“Oh my gosh, a hummingbird!”

Her fascination fascinated me
to redundancy.

She was a lovable spirit.
A bubbly, dorky, Canadian girl with
the appetite of three baby pandas.

“So much awe and excitement over
such a tiny bird,”
 I thought.

Then again,
perhaps her reaction was befitting.
Maybe it was I who’d lost perspective.

Age and Cynicism have muddied
my sense of Wonder.

Familiarity has made Miracles cliché.

I pray thee, O Lord,
that I may see the world
through the eyes
of the bubbly, dorky, Canadian girl.
